Our online Master of Science in Nursing program is thoughtfully designed for the professional nurse who wants to advance his or her career with a goal of becoming a nurse leader or nurse educator. Based on a comprehensive curriculum that includes courses in advanced health assessment, advanced pathophysiology concepts and a deep exploration of pharmacology, students also learn leadership and educational theories, teaching strategies, curriculum development and programmatic evaluation, all with an emphasis on culturally appropriate evidence-based nursing practice.
Designed specifically for the working RN who already holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, this program consists of five-six quarters of study and is typically completed in 15-18 months. Your experienced and dedicated instructors will share their passion for nursing as well as their expertise as they guide you through the curriculum facilitating your acquisition of the knowledge, skills and disposition needed to demonstrate mastery of the student learning outcomes. You will earn 30 hours of practicum experience and complete coursework that will transfer to a Doctorate of Nurse Practitioner program.

I’ve never taken an online class. Can I do it?
Our online programs are designed to fit your active lifestyle, therefore, our programs are paced at only two course per term. This workload gives you time to work and study and maintain a balance while you complete your degree.
I’m worried about the technology skills needed for an online program.
The technology skills you will need are minimal. Can you send email and surf the web? Then you have the tech skills you need to complete an online program at DCN. Additionally, our programs have breaks between terms to give you an opportunity to enjoy some time off from coursework, take a vacation with family, or focus on other projects. You will be able to work, live, and learn successfully as you complete your online degree at DCN.
