About Our Campus
Denver College of Nursing is easily accessible and in the heart of the vibrant lower downtown Denver district, better known as LoDo. The campus is a short walk to historic Union Station and Larimer Square, one block to Coors Field, close to light rail transportation and within blocks of a variety of restaurants, from delis, to food trucks to fine dining.
The main building is located at 1401 19th Street, at the corner of Market Street. DCN has an annex located two blocks south of the main building at 1875 Lawrence Street, which houses administrative offices, work rooms, classroom testing facilities and state-of-the-art simulation labs.
Classrooms, laboratories, the Learning Resource Center, Student Services, Financial Aid, the Student Commons and other administrative support personnel are located in the main building. Clinical service hours occur at facilities primarily in the Denver metropolitan area.
Denver College of Nursing occupies a 24,000 square foot main campus located at 1401 19th Street Denver, CO 80202.
A Learning Resource Center is available with high-speed Internet access, computer workstations with laptops, printers, web-based resources, reference books, and periodicals. Nursing labs are equipped with microscopes, stethoscopes, blood pressure cuffs, EKG machines, surgical instruments, patient hospital beds, and injection arms/skins.
Wireless Internet access is provided throughout the college for laptop computers for student use and for testing. The lecture rooms have Internet connectivity, instructional podiums, projectors, and in-wall speakers to enhance the lectures with access to specialized medical and educational web sites and use of web-based materials.
The student lounge, with vending machines and microwaves, is home to many Student Nurse Association events. Administrative offices include student services, financial aid, registrar and admissions. Faculty work areas and interview rooms for faculty/student conferences are located at the main campus and the Annex.
Students enrolled in an online program may choose, prior to the start of the academic program, to purchase a laptop computer from the college. A computer with a current version of MS Office Professional Academic and a sufficient Internet connection is the basic equipment needed for online programs.
Denver College of Nursing’s annex is located on the 4th floor of the building at 1875 Lawrence Street, Suite 450, in downtown Denver, two blocks from the main campus. The 7,611 square foot annex space includes a Simulation Lab with high fidelity simulation models, medication administration equipment, modern supplies and electronic medical record software. The annex also includes the business office, a computer lab, debriefing rooms and staff offices, including Career Services.
The simulation lab accommodates a group of nursing students in each of the four patient rooms. There are three medical/surgical rooms, one which includes Victoria™, the only obstetric-gynecological high fidelity robotic manikin in a nursing college in Colorado. Additional medical/surgical rooms include IStan™ and MetiMan™ high fidelity manikins, which offer numerous scenarios for simulation. The pediatric room features infant and child manikins.
Main Building (1401 19th Street)
The college’s hours of operation at the main campus are between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday (unless otherwise announced as closed). The main campus building is closed on Sunday.
Annex (1875 Lawrence Street)
The college’s hours of operation at the annex are between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The annex is accessible on Saturday only by arrangement; it is closed on Sunday.
The commons break room is equipped with vending machines, microwaves, free coffee, refrigerator and tables and chairs. Students are encouraged to use this area for lunch break, informal studying and student meetings.
