Denver College Of Nursing - Campus Experience

Denver College of Nursing’s on-campus programs allow you to begin your nursing career quickly. Students who want to fast-track their nursing careers can build a strong didactic and clinical foundation in under two years (with required prerequisites) through our accelerated Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program or our accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.

We serve our students on campuses in Denver and Houston — each offering a nursing-centric academic environment and many forms of support to help students gain and maintain momentum in their nursing education. See what sets the DCN campus experience apart from the rest:

  • We provide a specialized learning environment focused exclusively on nursing education, with you and your peers connected in the shared goal of becoming competent and compassionate nurses.
  • Our low student-to-teacher ratios allow you to truly connect with your classmates and get personalized support from your instructors.
  • You’ll experience consistent communication from dedicated student services directors, who are there to guide you from the first weeks of class through the weeks leading up to graduation.
  • Our high-quality simulation labs are designed with input from experts in simulation lab experiences and nursing program advisors in our communities.
  • DCN’s Global Health Perspectives program provides students, faculty, and alumni the opportunity to serve communities in need, both domestically and internationally, allowing them to apply their nursing expertise and leadership skills in real-world environments.
  • We provide several modes of support to help our students pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN):
    • Any student who achieves a score of 1000 or higher on the HESI Comprehensive Exam during their capstone course will be reimbursed for the cost of their first NCLEX-RN exam.
    • Students nearing the end of their nursing program are offered a free NCLEX-RN review course from Kaplan and discounted review courses from HURST Review.
    • Any student may participate in success-building in NCLEX-RN preparation activities at no cost.
  • Students have access to career counseling, resume guidance, nursing job postings, and career fairs through DCN’s career services team.
  • DCN’s virtual library provides on-demand access to a number of valuable educational resources, including dedicated pages for your courses, department pages for our programs, course bibliographies and PowerPoint lecture support, subscription research databases, and APA guidance. You’ll also receive a free amount of copying/printing each term and free campus Wi-Fi.
  • The student services department arranges a variety of fun events on our campuses, including barbeques, free lunch days, and special activities for National Nurses Week.
